The Nantahala Community Library currently has approximately 4,000 books including, fiction, non-fiction,
biography, children's, juniors and large print. In addition to that we
have audio books, videos, DVDs and over a dozen magazine subscriptions. We also
benefit from numerous donations from the community.
With our Baker and Taylor leasing
program our patrons are ensured to have
the latest of the best sellers and popular authors. We have 2 internet
computers, 2 children's computers and an additional catalog computer. This
room can also be utilized for community meetings, parent teacher conferences,
and the children's reading and summer programs.
Thanks to a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and matching funds from the Friends of the Macon County Public Library, we are a Wi-Fi hotspot. Any Wi-Fi enabled device such as laptop, mobile phone, PDA or MP3 player can connect to the internet when within range. But you don't need to have your own laptop to take advantage of this service. With the same grant and matching funds, a wireless laptop was purchased for patrons to use while visiting the library.
Audio/visual equipment is available upon advance notice. For the kids,
we have puzzles, games, a learning resource center, and fun videos.

A summer reading program is a favorite for the children! Our latest books
are highlighted in both the Andrews Journal, and Franklin Press in the
Nantahala News column.
With our friendly staff and our central location in the community, many
patrons just come by and visit. We welcome you to visit us too!
