The Macon County Public Library is now open at its new location 819 Siler Road in Franklin. A one-story, 29,000 square-foot building, the new library will be almost double the size of the existing library. To learn more about the new library, click here.

The Library is supported by two charitable funds. The Macon County Public Library Gift Fund is a vehicle for supporting immediate needs. The Macon County Public Library Endowment Fund, which was established with a bequest from the late Helen Mason, is intended to build for future needs. Both are part of the Macon County Community Foundation's family of funds, which are affiliated with the North Carolina Community Foundation.

A gift given by Mary Eaton in honor of her mother, Olive B. Eaton, a former Macon County teacher, has established a charitable fund to support the Olive B. Eaton Writing Contest. Now in it's 22nd year, the contest continues to provide inspiration and support to young writers in Macon County.

Donors who wish to learn more about the library's charitable funds may contact the librarian.
